Crocus Obedience & Kennel Club (COKC) is a non-for-profit dog training club located outside of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada.
Land Acknowledgement
The Crocus Obedience and Kennel Club respectfully acknowledges that we gather on the lands where the Dakota Oyate, Nakoda Oyate, Ininiwak, Nehethowak, Nehiyawak, Anishininewuk, Denesuline, Anishinaabeg, and the Red River Métis reside. These nations have respected and valued dogs as important companions, protectors, and working partners for thousands of years. Their traditional relationships with canines embodied many of the same principles of respect, care, and relationship that our club celebrates and promotes today. We honour this shared heritage.
We acknowledge the harms of the past and recognize that acknowledgment is only the first step. As a club, we commit to reconciliation through ongoing learning, relationship-building, and meaningful action. Together—Indigenous and non-Indigenous—we must move forward with humility, respect, and a shared commitment to healing and understanding.

We promote a balanced training method – positive but not permissive – based on operant conditioning. This method allows you to have control of your dog while maintaining trust. Without trust, you cannot gain true respect from your dog.
COKC’s facilities include a training building and two fenced outdoor rings.
Classes we offer include basic training classes – Puppy, Manners 1 and Manners 2 – as well as various classes for rally, agility, disc dog and flyball.
We also host a variety of events such as agility trials, disc dog trials, flyball tournaments, conformation shows, obedience trials and rally trials.
