COKC offers all levels of agility training from foundation to competition. The prerequisite for admission to the agility program is the Pre-Agility Foundation class.
Pre-Agility Foundation classes are normally offered twice a year, beginning in early June and again in early October. If all of the current advanced agility classes are at capacity, COKC will not offer the class in June, but will offer only one Pre-Agility Foundation class beginning in early October.
Pre-Agility Foundation is a six-week class that introduces students to the sport of agility. The prerequisite for this class is successful completion of Manners 1 at COKC. The class will include relationship building, developing skills needed for agility, teaching dogs to settle in a crate, working on sit stays, creating a motivator through tugging, shaping exercises, body awareness, shadow handling and other skills teams will need to learn the game of agility.
The next intake of Pre-Agility Foundation will begin Saturday, October 19, 2024. Registration for this class for COKC members will open three weeks prior to the start date on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10 a.m. If openings remain in the class, registration will be opened to the general public on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 10 a.m.
To register, please email: crocusagility@gmail.com, including your name and contact information, and your dog”™s name, breed, and age.
Following the successful completion of the Pre-Agility Foundation class, those interested may join the COKC agility program. Students will move through the various levels of agility training as their skills develop. Each session of agility classes is an hour long and six weeks in length.
